MusiTag

Audio-derived tagging with the MusiMap taxonomy, on demand or across a catalogue.

Overview

MusiTag describes a piece of music with the MusiMap taxonomy. It analyses the audio signal of a track and returns tags with scores and labels, together with the taxonomy version used. It does not analyse lyrics text.

This page explains the product. For request and response details, use the Tagging API guide.

What it gives you

  • Taxonomy tags with scores and labels for each analysed track.
  • A stable set of tag IDs you can reuse as filters in Catalogue Search. Browse them in the taxonomy guide.
  • The prior analysis that other products build on. MusiProfile and catalogue-wide search rely on tracks having been analysed first.

Two ways to use it

The two modes are complementary. The same organization can use either one, or both.

  • On demand. You send one track for analysis, MusiMap returns the result, and you keep it in your own platform. No persistent catalogue is required.
  • Across your catalogue. Music is ingested into a catalogue, tagging runs as part of processing, and results come back through the delivery models in Getting results back.

The on-demand route reads audio from an S3 location you control. See Getting data into MusiMap for how audio and catalogue content reach MusiMap.

Credits

Billable MusiTag operations use Tagging credits. The public credit key is tagging. Live (on-demand) tagging consumes credits; reading stored results does not. Balances and history are described in Credits. Full consumption rules are in the Tagging API guide.

In the dashboard

Use the MusiTag dashboard tool to browse a tagging matrix over your organization catalogues, filter by catalogue and tag family, and export a CSV snapshot. Sign-in is required.

In the API

Tagging is part of the Web API under product features. Scopes and request shapes are described in the Tagging API guide.
